REFLECTION

REFLECTION 10

In conclusion, due to the goals I had set out at the beginning of the year and my open-mindedness, my first year of law school was amazing because of the various opportunities I participated in. I believe that by stepping out of my comfort zone and interacting with students and professionals, I was able to learn more about the legal profession, which will guide my legal career. I know that there is still a lot for me to do next year, but I am glad I decided to study Juris Doctor, it has been a rewarding experience.

REFLECTION 9

The events of 2020, including COVID-19, have given me opportunities to self – evaluate myself, to enhance my skills and experiences. Self-development is difficult since all lessons and events are now online so it is up to me to exercise discipline, problem solving, and initiative to complete the tasks I set for myself. While I am normally a determined person, I often found myself struggling to maintain focus on completing my tasks. But knowing that my friends and fellow peers are also experiencing the same struggles has created a sense of unity, which helps me remain positive and motivated.

REFLECTION 8

I learned that there are vast differences between academia and legal work, such as the writing style. This was an important insight for me because I realized that while I am good at academic writing, I need to improve my writing skills for a legal career.

REFLECTION 7

Learning can take many forms; it does not always occur through academics. While academic learning is crucial, I believe it is also important to seek knowledge in other ways.

REFLECTION 6

It is important to be open-minded and adaptive. I met people from various backgrounds, which helped broaden my understanding and perspectives

REFLECTION 5

It is so important and useful to take advantage of the opportunities and resources available to students through the university or law school. This was one of my main goals for this year; I decided that I would participate in as many different opportunities as I can to gain wholesome learning experience and to develop my network.

REFLECTION 4

For the past days, I really had a difficulty in adjusting on my new schedules of activity. There is a time I think of quitting, but I always put in mind that this opportunity just comes only once.

REFLECTION 3

When most of the topics discussed are cases, I really had a hard time analyzing it, for it needs a lot of time to read and understood but because of the nature of my job, I honestly say that I can not concentrate and give full time reading on all of the cases. I only scanned it quickly and highlighted those key notes that I believe it helps me understand the case.

REFLECTION 2

I just realized that this subject is not an easy one. That it should be given enough time especially that the topics are mostly cases. I honestly give short time to study the lectures given because of the circumstances surrounding my work. I am afraid I just only scanned the topics/lectures given when I have a free time.

REFLECTION 1

In my first day of the class on the subject Persons and Family Relation. I was really excited to learn new things especially that I handle cases with regards to Women and Children. I honestly do not have ample time in reading, so I do give credits and favor that the topics were recorded so that when I have a vacant time I just open the recorded video and played it to grasp some important topics. I also jot down some words that I cannot understand and if I have vacant time I go back to the topics and analyzed it.
